We don't have a fire, but if we did, it would be delightful. It is cold and the furnaces are up full-blast. Tomorrow is looking to be a snow day too. I wonder how long our pantry will hold up to us being holed-up?
I've just been called to duty at the library tomorrow from 1pm-6pm. Who's going to want to go to the library in this. Apparently it's the president of the university's wishes...
I wonder which shoes I have with enough grip that I wont end up on my arse 50 times on the walk to work?
tonight I went to the mailbox with a long spiky umbrella. It really helped at the slickest spot stepping down from the curb to the street. I jammed the point down through the snow and sleet into the grass.
Aw. We've got no snow like that here. In Russia! Weird.
News is all a go here - just thought I'd let you know that it looks like I'll be teaching "proper" (ha) soon. This holiday is going to involve a *lot* of reading up about the curriculum.
Needless to say, the school in question was just desperate for someone willing and vaguely experienced with kiddies.

Well done with all that running malarky by the way :D
A couple of years ago I decided that sitting around and watching Buffy all the time probably wasn't the best way to live a healthy and fulfilling life so I started to run (this isn't to say I have stopped watching Buffy, it is just no longer my raison d'etre). Then I ran some more. Six-months later I ran a half-marathon along Route 66 and after another six and a whole mess of miles I ran a marathon around the streets of Oklahoma City. Over a year later and an illness curtailed second attempt I'm about start training again...
In between training I do other things like study (a lot) and teach stuff. I'm currently designing a study looking at the cognitive effects of studying philosophy while simultaneously re-modelling the bathroom. So that's fun... Right?

A spiky umbrella is for me tomorrow then and maybe my trail trainers...
